Gorenje’s ambassador, one of the best handball players of all times, Ivano Balic is also an organizer of a summer handball camp.
As we were curious to know how it looks like when a handball legend leads a summer camp for kids we decided to unleash some facts we discover while talking to Ivano.
-
Ivano is actually a co-organizer of his summer handball camp with another extraordinary retired handball player, Petar Metlicic.
-
The very first international handball camp Balic & Metlicic took place on Croatian island Hvar (Jelsa) in 2008.
-
Up to this day more than 1.000 kids participated in the camp already.
-
Trainings with participators are done in relaxed atmosphere of a handball camp, which gives the kids opportunity to learn some things for which there is usually no time in their everyday handball trainings back at home.
-
Experienced trainers like Dalibor Anušić, Vedran Ćurak, Boris Popović, Žarko Balić and many others, are taking care for kids’ handball trainings.
-
The highlights of every year’s camp are handball stars that are visiting camp and meet with kids; in previous years kids could meet players like Domagoj Duvnjak, Mirza Džomba, Ivan Čupić, Venio Losert, Patrik Ćavar, Željko Babić and others.
-
Trainings take place at the Pelinje arena and are done by the system 2-1-2.
-
All the participants are accommodated in a beautiful resort Fontana that is placed by the sea and it’s only ten minutes of relaxed walk away from the training arena. Kids are allowed to use also the hotel pool and fitness.
After getting all the interesting facts about our ambassador’s summer handball camp we almost feel sorry we cannot participate.
