EHF FINAL4 10 YEARS recap

EHF FINAL4 10 YEARS recap

This year, EHF Champions League FINAL4 celebrates its 10th anniversary. Ten years seems like a little boy who is just trying to get in the teenage phase, earning some valuable experiences and getting a bit more serious than he was in his toddler phase.

Luckily, that’s not the case for the EHF’s FINAL4.

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 has throughout this past ten years established itself as the indisputable season highlight of European club handball among players and fans.

On both playing days the LANXESS arena is sold out with 19,750 fans.

Furthermore, FINAL4 became more than just handball matches it became a handball festival: the matches on the court are complemented by a spectacular show. Thousands of fans are driven to Cologne every year to see this two-day`s Christmas of handball.

As a sponsor of Velux EHF Champions league we are proud to be a part of such an important handball event and to be able to celebrate such a meaningful milestone in their organization.

Here we are sharing three interesting facts about the EHF FINAL4 that you might not know:

1.       In the past ten years, Germany as a nation was the most successful on the FINAL4. Three different German clubs won four times.

2.       There are two clubs that won the title twice – THW Kiel and Barcelona.

3.       Ivan Cupic has won the EHF Champions league FINAL4 twice with two different teams – in 2016 with Vive Kielce and a year later with RK Vardar.

P.s.: We will be there this year too, with two booths, outside and inside the arena. Find us there! Let`s meet! We have prepared some interesting games for you :)
