What winners eat on a game day
Did you ever ask yourself what it takes for an athlete to win the game, to be better than everyone else?
For sure there is more than just one right answer to this question but one right direction to think of – is food! More and more studies are proving everyday that food is truly important for everyone’s health and good energy levels, so there is no surprise that what athletes eat affects greatly on their performance.
We asked Nikola, one of the world’s greatest athletes, to share with us his eating habits for always being in such a good form. What is in his meal plan that is making him the super hero of handball? Which food gives him the fuel that lasts all the sixty minutes of a harsh battle on the field?
Here is his meal plan…
· 2 scrambled eggs with 2 slices of smoked salmon
· hot porridge with vegetal milk
· nuts with dry fruits
· cranberry juice
LUNCH (light lunch):
· rice or pasta with cooked vegetables.
· Omega 3 rich oil (flaxseed, walnuts, olive,…)
· Vegetable soup
· Sweet potatoes with white fish
· And always omega 3 rich oils
· Dark chocolate
